The CSA Theatre Company recently attended the Indiana State Thespian Conference, where several students participated in workshops, attended one-act plays, and competed in the prestigious Thespy Competition.
This was an especially significant milestone for CSA Theatre Company, as it marked the first time attending the state conference as a newly chartered Thespian Troupe. The students made an impressive debut, earning multiple Superior awards and qualifying for the International Thespian Conference this summer.
Junior Thespian Awards:
Theo Gipson and Adeline Powell – Superior in Solo Acting
Annalisia Hofmeister and Tallulah Gibson – Superior in Duet Musical Theatre
High School Thespian Awards:
Lillian Weaver – Superior in Solo Musical Theatre
Elijah Inskeep and Grace Chandler – Superior in Duet Acting
Zack Marcum and Kaylah Spaulding – Superior in Duet Musical Theatre
Zack Marcum and Kaylah Spaulding – Superior in Solo Acting
Zack Marcum – Best of Show (Highest Score) in the Solo Acting category
The conference provided students with invaluable experiences, as they had the opportunity to develop their skills, receive professional feedback, and connect with fellow thespians from across the state.
Lillian Weaver reflected on the event, saying, "The State Thespians Conference offers students a unique opportunity to showcase their talents, gain valuable experiences, and connect with peers from across the state who share a passion for the performing arts!"
Zack Marcum added, "Attending our first State Thespians Conference gave me so much exposure to real-world experiences and allowed me to step out of my comfort zone while also growing as a performer and student."
The CSA Theatre Company continues to foster young talent, providing students with opportunities to thrive in the performing arts while gaining recognition at state and national levels.
