Aletheia Schmidt has been enchanted with the Spanish language for the past 15 years. At the age of 15, she,
along with her family, moved to Santiago, Chile for her father's job. It was in Chile that Aletheia began to
practice some of the Spanish she had been studying and not only found herself connecting on an even deeper
level to the Hispanic culture around her, but loved every moment of it.
Since Chile, Aletheia has only continued to spend significant time in this language, living in Costa Rica and
Spain. She also went on to receive her B.A. in Spanish as well as minored in ESL (English as a Second Language)
from Messiah College where she was a part of a traveling Hispanic theatre group.
Aletheia holds a special place in her heart for elementary-school aged kids, and has thoroughly enjoyed her time
teaching, encouraging, training, playing with and learning from these unique friends of hers.
Having moved to Marion two years ago to work as a Resident Director at Indiana Wesleyan University, Aletheia is
now thrilled to be both living and working in the downtown area of Marion.
