Eric Reaves is a lifetime resident of Indiana. He has been employed at Paws Inc. (The Garfield Studio)
for 14 years. Eric attended Indiana Wesleyan University (Marion College) and graduated in 1988 with a
degree in Art Education and a minor in Art History. My guess is he planned to do something in the field
of art. Before drawing the world's most famous cat and comic strip he worked in various fields of art.
These included: a print shop paste-up boy (before computers!), a high school art teacher, staff artist,
and creative director, producing art for the likes of Disney, Warner Bros. DC and Marvel Comics, The
Simpsons, and Nintendo too name a few. He continues to share his abilities with students through adjunct
teaching at IWU and the local Community School for the Arts. Eric is a member of the National Cartoonist
Society and was awarded the Hoosier State Press Association's, "Best Editorial Cartoonist" for 2007.
Eric lives in Grant County with his beautiful wife Lori and their five children, Chris, Cody,
Colton, Courtney, and Casey. They have a Maltese named Sophia. He enjoys watching his children's activities,
fly fishing, and drawing and painting. More of his artwork can be viewed at www.ericreavesart.com.
