Edward Moffat, originally from San Pedro California, is a Graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of
Ballet and Theatre Arts School, under the direction of Merriem LaNova. He had the privilege to tour to
Scotland, England, Mexico, and throughout the United States with, the youth ballet company, Ballet Celeste
International.
His career spans three decades and ten professional ballet companies. Mr. Moffat has performed with Theatre
Ballet of San Francisco, Spokane Ballet, Cleveland Ballet, Staatstheatre Saarbrücken, Indianapolis Ballet
Theatre, Chautauqua Dance Company, Ballet Oklahoma, Orlando Ballet, and Ballet Austin. Edward was invited
to dance as a Guest Artist with former Kirov ballerina Elena Martinson and the Estonian National Ballet at the
1997 International Gala performance. He has additionally performed as a Guest Artist with several companies and
Universities across the United States, Europe and Asia. Edward danced with Ballet Austin for nine years and
received the Dedicated Dancer Award in 2002. Edward is especially known for his acting ability on stage in many
character roles including, Claudius in Hamlet, Captain Hook in Peter Pan, King Florestan in Sleeping Beauty,
Herr Drosselmeyer in The Nutcracker, Van Helsing in Dracula, and the evil Von Rothbart in Swan Lake.
Mr. Moffat and his wife Laura, also a ballet teacher, have three children. Daughters Katie and Kristina, who
attend Concordia Lutheran High School, and 4 year old son Ryan. Mr. Moffat has taught Classical Ballet for
the past seven years in the Indianapolis and Fort Wayne area and is excited to be a part of CSA.
