Shauncee Johnson is currently a full-time nursing
student looking forward to becoming a Registered Nurse. Shauncee has
been dancing for the past 18 years and has had the opportunity to
study a variety of styles including tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and
ballet. She began dancing with La Danz’ Studio of Marion, Indiana at
the age of 3 where she studied under Jamie Bragg and Missy Gunning who
are both instructors at CSA. With La Danz’, Shauncee participated in
a number of competitions and took classes from many well known
choreographers. She also had the opportunity to perform during
halftime at a number of Indiana Pacer Basketball games and the John
Wooden Classic.
Tremaine Dance Conventions and New York City
Dance Alliance are just a few of the conventions Shauncee has
attended. She also studied in Chicago at the Chicago Human Rhythm
Project. Just a few of the well-known choreographers she has studied
under are Diane Walker, Sam Weber, Mia Michaels, Dan Karaty, Laurie
Johnson, and Jill Powell.
When the Community School of the Arts was
established, Shauncee was a student for two years. During her last
year, Shauncee became one of the first to teach as an apprentice
teacher under Jamie Bragg at CSA. Under the guidance of Jamie,
Shauncee learned a lot about what it takes to become a positive role
model and mentor to so many kids. She is now extremely proud to be a
full-fledged member of the CSA Dance Staff.
Shauncee has truly enjoyed her time as a teacher
at CSA thus far and is thankful for the opportunity to share her love
for dance with others. She is looking forward to continuing her dance
education and is also very excited about teaching another year at CSA.
Finally, Shauncee would like to thank all of her students’ parents for
allowing her to be a part of their lives and dance education. |
