Jennifer Halls (Jen) graduated from Oakland University in Michigan with a Bachelor or Arts in Communications
in 2002 where she also received a scholarship for the show choir, Meadow Brooke Estates. Jen took over 5 years
of voice lessons beginning at age 15, from instructors such as John Paul White and Jan Albright and now gives
voice lessons herself! She's been in two bands and sings for wedding ceremonies and professional sporting events.
Jen took dance lessons also off and on since age three from ballet to latin. She's always felt most natural in
acting roles within musicals such as My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls and The Sound of Music. She was shy growing up,
and would ask for smaller roles after she'd been casted for larger rolls. She was forced to get over her shyness
after moving in high school and soon became the class clown.
She has led youth for 10 years in worship at church, correctional facilties and as a camp counselor. Jen has a deep
love for performing arts along with writing and directing behind the scenes as well. She began directing within her
own family, teaching her 10 cousins to perform to choreographed music for all the adults. She directed small plays in
college and made a commercial in her digital video class while in Italy through study abroad. She feels so blessed to
have seen an opera at the Ancona Theatre while she was there.
She plans on translating her original songs into Italian, writing songs for movies and getting a masters in counseling.
Arts and ministry will always be a huge part of her life. Jen works as a full time counselor and was licensed in ministry
in 2008. She also voluteers as worship leader at the Grant Co. jail.
Jen is so excited to have the opportunity to work with youth at CSA in the arts!! She is looking forward to meeting her
students and enthusiastically directing/choreographing the Silent Dramas which will carry messages which are far from
silent in movement and music!
