Dory Brunner has lived most of life in Marion. She graduated from Purdue with a degree in
Design and Art Education.
She taught art in Marion Community Schools for 16 years, covering many buildings. Including
5 years at Jones Junior High and 9 years at Lincoln Elementary and 11 years at Kendall Elementary.
During the decade 1997-2007, her elementary students won more county and state awards for excellence
in the annual Symphony In Color Contest, than any other group of students in Grant County.
Also, in a 3 year period, two of her students received the prestigious "Pacini Award" (Best in Show)
in Indianapolis!
From 1978-1997 she ran her own small business called "Hunky Dory Signs" specializing in signs,
posters, banners, logos and other design work. Clients included banks, churches, schools, businesses,
stores, the Marion Philharmonic, Civic Theatre and private commissions.
She is looking forward to sharing her love of art with students and other artists.
