Eric grew up in Frankton, Indiana where he began his career in music through show choir and band. After
graduation, he began teaching summer marching band programs, first at his alma mater, then at Kokomo High
School, Wabash High School, Blue River Valley High School, and New Palestine High School. He went to Ball
State University majoring in Music Education and Political Science. In the summers of 2002 and 2003, Eric
had the best music experience of his life by traveling the country and performing with the Drum and Bugle
Corps, Phantom Regiment. Through this experience, he had the chance to, not only travel extensively, but
also work with many icons in the field of instrumental music, such as J.D Shaw of Boston Brass, Pete Bond
of the New York Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, as well as Pat Sheridan and Sam Pilafian, authors of "The
Breathing Gym."
Eric will be teaching classes in college prep music theory, college prep music history, and possibly
creating small ensembles and private lessons following interest in the program.
Eric currently resides in Van Buren with his fiance, Nikki Smithson, and is the assistant manager at
Family Video.
